Eton College
We are engaged by Eton College to undertake general cleaning but particularly carpet cleaning within their boarding house estate during the summer school holidays.
New Schools main entrance building at Eton College was extended and re-modelled and was opened in September 2019. Part of the construction included a new porcelain tiled floor in the main reception area that extended through to a corridor to the Headmaster’s office and incorporated a small kitchen and disabled toilet.
Although newly laid, the flooring was not sealed adequately and despite the efforts of the Eton College housekeeping staff in trying to keep it clean and in a condition to create a lasting first impression to the College visitors, the condition deteriorated over time and it was becoming increasingly difficult to properly maintain.
In August 2020, prior to the return of the pupils and staff after the summer break, we were contacted by Paul Bayley – Building and Facilities Manager at Eton, and asked to assist in returning the floor to its original newly laid condition.
With Paul Bayley’s help we were able to determine the floor manufacturer’s recommended cleaning detergent and ordered some in for use. We prepared the floor to remove any loose particles before applying the product in a hot water solution and allowed it 20 minutes to penetrate the floor before firstly stripping using a black floor pad then scrubbing with a stiff brush deck on the bottom of a rotary scrubbing machine. All residues were then extracted using a wet pick up vacuum cleaner before a final mopping.
The results shown in the pictures displayed within our Hard Floor Cleaning section speak for themselves.
We continue to support Paul Bayley, his team and all general and carpet cleaning requirements at Eton College.
