Day Nursery in Berkshire
Our relationship with this group of day nurseries involves carpet, high level and kitchen deep cleaning services that we have been providing for over a decade.
We were contacted on a mid-October Friday afternoon. The day before, one of the babies in their charge showed signs of a fever. The nursery followed Government advice and those associated with the babies care were told to self-isolate and the nursery management closed the Nursery. The baby was tested and Covid-19 was confirmed although the symptoms were mild. Even though the baby and contact was limited to a particular person and room, we recommended a whole building fog as the person concerned in the baby’s care would have visited other parts of the nursery.
We organised access to the nursery on the same day with our fully trained operatives attending. Following the donning of full body chemical coveralls, eye protection and half face respiratory mask, our operatives entered the premises. Using our Sanique S3 electric sanitising sprayer and food safe non-tainting Covid-19 killing chemical, the whole nursery from top to bottom was fogged and sanitised to remove any Covid-19 threat. The chemical coated and wrapped around all of the surfaces sprayed, including the building fabric, soft furnishings, carpet and hard floors and all threats were removed during the evaporation process of the solution used.
We were mindful that we needed to be careful with the chemical to be used as the process involved the spraying of toys and equipment that when played with sometimes ends up in the mouths of small children together with fingers that would have contacted the surfaces sprayed.
Following the treatment on the Friday evening, the nursery was able to open and resume its operations on the following Monday morning.
Those self-isolating showed no signs of Covid-19 infection and the baby recovered fully and is now back at the nursery.
